- A foreign exchange loss, mainly on the settlement of euro denominated supplier payments, occurred because of a stronger US dollar.
Negative emissions can be thought of as a form of time travel. Ever since the Industrial Revolution, human societies have produced an excess of CO₂, by taking carbon stores from deep inside the earth — in the form of coal, oil and gas — and from stores aboveground (mostly wood), then putting it into the atmosphere by burning it. It has become imperative to reverse the process — that is, take CO₂ out of the air and either restore it deep inside the earth or contain it within new surface ecosystems. This is certainly easier to prescribe than achieve. “All of negative emission is hard — even afforestation or reforestation,” Sally Benson, a professor of energy-resources engineering at Stanford, explains. “It’s not about saying, ‘I want to plant a tree.’ It’s about saying, ‘We want to plant a billion trees.’ ” Nevertheless, such practices offer a glimmer of hope for meeting future emissions targets. “We have to come to grips with the fact that we waited too long and that we took some options off the table,” Michael Oppenheimer, a Princeton scientist who studies climate and policy, told me. As a result, NETs no longer seem to be just interesting ideas; they look like necessities. And as it happens, the Climeworks machines on the rooftop do the work each year of about 36,000 trees.
Analysts and investors are also invited to participate and ask questions using the dial-in numbers below:
In India, where MC is a mark of religious affiliation, 41% of mostly Hindu men were concerned that MC was not part of their culture, while 30% were afraid of stigma or rejection [110]. MC has historic implications in India, where Muslim men were targeted for violence based on their circumcision status during the Hindu fundamentalist, anti-Muslim pogroms of 2002 and subsequent riots [177]. It has been suggested that MC in India might be more acceptable to STI clinic attendees than others [178].
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, there was a native species (a primitive native species) that roamed the face of this archaic rock. They walked around with sticks and other rudimentary weapons – throwing them at wild animals in hopes of incapacitating them by impalement. That is how they ate. In this primitive world of living grocery stores life was very simple – and so was transportation. They “rode” their horsepower; you didn’t have to “peek under the hood” to see what they were “running.”
- Processed grades markedly improved as higher-grade areas of both the Vindaloo Main and Vindaloo Central pits became accessible following the end of the rainy season. In addition, the higher-grade ore mined was selectively processed while the lower-grade ore was stockpiled.
- Q4-2018 group production from continuing operations increased by 25% over the previous quarter to 174koz and AISC declined by 14% to $707/oz due to a strong quarter at all mines.
So, since 2014, two-thirds of the tap water and one-third of the total water supply in Beijing, in the arid north, has come by canal and pipeline from a reservoir 1,400km to the south, fed by a tributary of the Yangzi. China hails the project as an unqualified success, supplying more than 50m people in its early years of operation. And it is part of an even bigger project that will see up to 45bn cubic metres of water a year transferred—7% of Chinese consumption. Environmentalists and water experts at home and abroad are more sceptical, however. Mr Biswas at the Lee Kuan Yew School in Singapore says the project gives China at best “a few years’ grace”. The worry is that it is a distraction from more pressing and important policy changes—cutting demand for water—and may actually encourage wasteful use. As elsewhere, the authorities fear that charging users for the true cost of their water might provoke protests and threaten social stability.
Endeavour operates 4 mines across Cote d’Ivoire (Agbaou and Ity) and Burkina Faso (Hounde, Karma) which are expected to produce 615-695koz in 2019 at an AISC of $760-810/oz.
De toute façon, j’ai toujours pensé que tu l’avais pris un peu petit pour tes sources et ton recul.
"There’s very few moving parts, and there’s very few things that could break," Renouard said. "The worst that could happen is it could fall out of the back of a truck and get ran over. But it’s almost all steel, so it would probably still work."
